About our profiles and thermal insulation

Sustainable quality is Feral Group’s priority. That is why we work with mitre joint welded tubular profiles that retain their shape when used intensively and in changing weather conditions. Our steel profiles are also thoroughly pre-treated and powder coated. For outdoor applications, the profiles are metallized and primed in order to make them corrosion-resistant, UV- and weather-resistant, colourfast and maintenance-free. These are important properties that we also recognise in our stainless steel profiles. This means that your exterior joinery will look good for years to come and will be resistant to rust with minimal maintenance.

Welded tubular profiles

For steel exterior joinery in unheated rooms (for example, pool houses, verandas and windbreaks), we use tubular profiles that retain their shape. We carefully weld them in mitre joint for a clean and impeccable finish. The glass and the profiles do not come into direct contact with each other, because each glass pane is attached separately in the putty.

ART 15

ART15 profiles are certainly a smart choice for exterior joinery where thermal insulation is of secondary importance, but water tightness is paramount (for example, in non-permanent heated pool houses). As standard, these are fitted with double glazing and integrated EPDM seals so that they are 100% water- and windproof.

ARTE

___________

The integrated thermal break in hard PVC that is incorporated in thermally interrupted steel profiles prevents heat from escaping through the window profiles. Combined with insulating glazing, with such ARTE profiles you have the most energy-saving solution in the range for steel exterior joinery.

Glazing

Insulating glazing

In our exterior steel windows, we can place different types of high-efficiency glazing with different U values. We have suitable profiles available for every thickness of glazing. As standard, we choose at least double glazing with a value of 1.1.

Safety glass

For some applications, such as glass balustrades for stairs and terraces, laminated safety glass is always our preference. This is because if the glass breaks, small glass fragments remain stuck to the interlayer between the glass plates in order to reduce the risk of injury.

Various possibilities

We can also use coloured or frosted glass in your steel exterior windows, doors and partitions. There are almost no limits to how much you can adapt the glazing in your exterior joinery to suit your personal style preferences.

Types of finish

We prefer to seal our steel exterior windows and doors according to the traditional putty process. Putty sealing is our speciality.

Putty   Our speciality

Sealing with putty is a labour-intensive process that requires skill and patience. Sealing is done entirely by hand and we leave each side to dry for at least 48 hours before we seal the other side. With our Soudal Tradition sealant, you can be sure of a UV-resistant and colourfast result that does not crumble under the influence of changing temperature or weather conditions.

Glazing beads

If large glass panes have to be mounted in the profiles on site, we must use glazing beads for the sealing between the glass panes and the steel profiles. For specific colour wishes, we can paint these glazing beads in the right colour beforehand.
